The Context
Visiting a new city often comes with excitement, but also friction. Travelers bounce between maps, reviews, and guides, constantly switching tools to decide where to go next.
Instead of exploring freely, much of the experience becomes fragmented, reactive, and driven by generic recommendations rather than personal curiosity.
The Problem
Most city exploration apps rely on generic, static recommendations. They fail to adapt to users’ preferences, context, or spontaneity, making discovery feel repetitive and overwhelming.
Travelers need a simpler, more personal way to explore cities without constantly planning or filtering information.
Research & insight
Early research showed that urban discovery apps often fail because they’re either too functional or too generic; lists of spots that ignore how people actually feel in a moment.
I found that what users really want is emotionally intelligent discovery: something that senses their state and gently nudges them toward what they need : calm, focus, or energy.
My approach became clear: design a page that introduces Neura not through features, but through feeling, with calm motion, atmospheric visuals, and a copy tone that feels personal rather than promotional.
Designing the rhythm of a city
Before settling on a visual language, I explored two distinct stylescape directions, each interpreting how Neura could translate the relationship between AI and urban life :
A clean and structured approach focused on clarity and precision. This direction emphasized the AI intelligence of Neura; sleek layouts, soft gradients, and calm neutrals that conveyed trust and control. It was functional and refined, but it lacked the energy and emotion of real urban life.
Urban Pulse; a darker, neon-lit take that captures the energy of night movement and technology.
Bold contrasts, deep blues, and vibrant magentas mirror how the app feels alive after dark.
After testing both, I moved forward with Urban Pulse, as it best reflected Neura’s AI-driven and dynamic personality.
Meet Neura, The AI-powered app that moves with you
Neura is an AI that understands your mood and recommends places that resonate with it. From peaceful morning cafés to lively evening spots. It learns from your patterns, senses your energy, and gently guides you toward moments that fit.
Rather than feeling like another city guide, Neura acts more like a friend who gets you. Its intelligence is subtle, suggesting rather than commanding, learning rather than predicting. Every interaction feels organic, like a conversation with your own rhythm.
Where AI meets emotion
The landing page was designed to capture that emotional intelligence. The hero focuses on the promise, Neura as a personal companion, with simple visuals that show how it fits into daily life. A short “how it works” section walks users through its logic, supported by AI-driven visuals and dynamic cards reflecting mood-based suggestions.
The goal wasn’t to explain everything, it was to make people feel the product.
Soft gradients, bold yet calm typography, and breathing white space helped build a sense of trust and curiosity. The result: a landing experience that feels less like a tech pitch and more like an invitation to rediscover your city through emotion.
